Cameroon, Denmark, Japan, Netherlands
Another group I am not too interested in. There are some formidable opponents here, but no I am not too incredibly interested. Except, the Netherlands is one of my prospects to make it to the WC final. Cara loves the Netherlands. You know, another stiff-upper-lipped, Protestant country. She loves Van Der Sar. Where is Van Der Sar by the way? They are the orange, and ever since I went to Ireland, I am not too impressed with the color orange. This year, however, I expect great things from this team.
The Netherlands
This is the country of the great Van Der Sar. They are stacked, at least up front. There are so many players to watch on this team, I expect them to go far. Unless, their defense falls apart. Cara's favorite playing goalkeeper is not the number 1 for the Orange. Their attacking power is impressive however. With names like Kuyt, Sneijder, Robben, Van Persie, Babel and Huntelaar, I expect them to control the midfield and make some serious goals. They are my dark horse. They are not necessarily the team I want to be at the end, but I expect them to go far in the tournament.
Cameroon
What can you say? It seems as if this team comes down to one man. He is the only player that is well-known, even throughout the soccer ignorant population. He is Samuel Eto'o. He will be the deciding factor on whether his team does well. This is the player to watch without question.
Japan
Ummm. Good luck. I don't know anything about this team at all. I do not even recognize any names on the roster. They are a definite wild card for me.
Denmark
This team will be interesting. It is packed with three Poulsens, an Agger, a Sorenson, and a Bendtner. I know they are ranked lower than others, but I really think they have the firepower to get out of the group. Time will tell.
Predictions:
1. The Netherlands
2. Denmark
