Les bébés petits. (insert upside down exclamation point) Ils pleurent!

I wasn't going to write anything until after I could reflect on round 1, but this is too much to ignore.  France is acting like a little baby. This is no surprise to me, but many others were shocked, horrified, and offended.  My "BFF" (please note my sarcasm here), Nicolas Anelka, was ousted from the team after throwing a profane, temper tantrum.    Evra, a player from my English team, Manchester United, had a row with the team director, who responded by quitting.  Here is their argument http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pRzbGeeAiU   The French team responded to not getting their way (Anelka back), by refusing to do anything, AKA quitting.  Grow up boys.  Hold that head up, even if you know you are going down.  You were given a gift when Henry didn't get his punishment in Ireland.  What a waste. 

Mes Amis...(insert upside down question mark) Ou est une mort digne?  Although I am glad that Anelka was sent home and think it was probably better for the team without Anelka's massive rainclouds constantly swarming around his giant, inflated head, I feel pretty badly for one player.  Only one player.  Franck Ribery, I am sorry I do not get to see your tenacious self be the saving grace for France.  You are a workhorse.  You overflow with passion for the game.  Franck says, "Everyone in the whole world is mocking us now.  I'm gutted, because we're not playing football any more."  Franck, are you really French?  Are you sure?  Are you sure you are not German, Dutch, or heck, what about Irish?  You certainly do not seem very French.


The Bright Side: France is most likely gone.  Oh and maybe South Africa can make it out of the group, maintaining the status quo that all host nations make it to round 2! Oh and Flight of the Conchords is hilarious when they speak French...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuXdhow3uqQ
